Emerging Public Land Partner Associate - for
nonprofit public land partners who are awaiting their 501
(c) (3) designation and/or the signing of their agency
agreement:
- Cienega Watershed Partnership – located in
Tucson, Arizona is in the process of establishing a
formal partnership with BLM and also works with the USDA
Forest Service, the National Park Service, the US Fish
and Wildlife Service as well as local and state agencies
as a partner with the Las Cienegas National Conservation
Area.

Excellence in Public Lands Partnership Award
National Park Service
US Army Corps of Engineers
Friends of Lake Sonoma has been honored with
the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Excellence in Interpretive
Partnerships Award for 2008. This award recognizes outstanding
contributions to the Army Corps interpretative and environmental
education program by a cooperating association partner. It is awarded every two years and recognizes a Corps
partner that has excelled in the areas of creativity and
originality, improvement in public awareness, public education,
accomplishment of management objectives, involving other partners
and serving diverse audiences.
This association works directly with the Corps Warm Springs Dam
Project/Lake Sonoma at Geyserville, California and was recognized as
one of the most successful and effective partners of the Corps. The
Association has provided significant support in the areas of water
safety and public education by providing time, money, and materials
to the Corps interpretive program.
