July 2014:

Grand Canyon Association and the National Park Service (in association with Bristlecone Media) partnered to create the video podcast series, "Grand Canyon in Depth." The videos explore the natural and human history of the Grand Canyon National Park. The series features park rangers, scientists and historians as they take us beyond the rim of the Canyon.

Portland Parks Foundation found a fun and creative way for Portlanders to show their support for parks in front of the City Council. On July 24th, Commissioner Fritz asked the City Council to refer a no-tax-increase park replacement bond to voters and to set the tone for this history-shaping effort. Portland Parks Foundation asked all in attendance to join in singing a revised version of a Woody Guthrie Classic, now entitled "This Park is your Park."

Zion Natural History Association partnered with University of Utah Press to publish a new book for Zion National Park enthusiasts. "A Zion Canyon Reader" is a compilation of writings about Zion Canyon. The book bear witness to conflicting viewpoints versus preservation and locals versus outsiders. Readers will also discover unfamiliar corners of the park and favorite hikes in a new light.

The National Parks Conservation Association collaborated with award winning singer-songwriter, Doreen Taylor, to create an anthem in honor of the splendor and magnificence of our parks with a song and music video, "Colors of the USA," in an effort to draw more people into the parks.
