The APPL annual convention allows participants the opportunity to build various aspects of capacity by attending a variety of educational sessions, shopping our exclusive trade show, experiencing inspirational keynotes, participating in timely round table discussions and networking with colleagues, partners and friends.

By presenting at our convention, you will gain exposure to a wide audience of public land professionals. The events draw approximately 500 participants from all over the United States. Our convention offer attendees the opportunity to gather in a shared space, connect with one another, and focus on the field’s most pressing concerns. Keynote and plenary speakers provide insights and inspiration while targeted breakout sessions allow attendees to gain specific knowledge and experience related to the event’s theme.

Please note: APPL requires all presenters to adhere to and sign off on the APPL Speakers Policy.

APPL Speakers Policy

I. The program content should enhance the capabilities of APPL's not-for-profit member organizations and public lands agency partners, reflecting the broad range of partnership types and educational needs of various APPL members and partners. Therefore if you propose a panel, speakers should represent various sizes and types of organizations.

II. Sales pitches for products and services are not permitted during educational sessions. These sessions are designed to develop professional knowledge, skills, and understanding, not to promote commercial ventures.

III. Applies only to APPL member speakers and trade show exhibitors - travel expenses and convention registration fees are not reimbursed. Nor are speaking honorariums paid to APPL member or trade show exhibitor presenters.

IV. The cost of basic promotion, room facilities and audio-visual equipment are part of the APPL program budget. APPL will do its best to meet audio visual requests but will not guarantee that all requests will be met. Any requests made after January 15, 2009 will NOT be met.

V. Handout materials are the sole responsibility of the speaker. Expenses related to handouts will not be reimbursed.
